BYD continues its European advance with Sealion 7

The Chinese BYD is making a major advance in Europe and is once again launching a new model, the Sealion 7. This fully electric SUV was unveiled this week during the Paris Motor Show and seems specifically designed for the European market. As the eighth New Energy Vehicle in BYD’s portfolio, the Sealion 7 combines a modern design with an overdose of technology and a spacious interior.

With a length of 4.83 meters and a wheelbase of 2.93 meters, the Sealion 7 offers a lot of space. Depending on the version, this new SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 215 km/h. Fast charging is possible with a power of up to 230 kW. BYD is positioning the Sealion 7 as an answer to the growing demand for electric SUVs in Europe. The combination of design, technology, performance and rich standard equipment are central to this design.

Ocean design as a basis

The Sealion 7 is a creation of Wolfgang Egger, designed in BYD’s design studio in Shenzhen. Just like the Dolphin and Seal, the Sealion 7 uses the Ocean design philosophy, with recognizable elements such as an X-shaped front and a sloping roofline with ducktail spoiler. The floating headlights and taillights with the latest ‘water drop’ signature enhance the appearance of this model. Although the Sealion 7 matches the BYD Seal in length, it is 16 centimeters higher.

With its large dimensions, the Sealion 7 offers space for five people. Despite the sloping roofline, there is plenty of headroom in the back. The interior is recognizable by the flowing lines of the Ocean design and the use of high-quality materials. Depending on the version, you can choose from vegan or nappa leather upholstery and two color options.
